Theatre Management Apprentice

Are you a team leader or supervisor looking for your first role in Theatre Management? Would you like the opportunity to gain a qualification while you learn on the job? Does the chance to be part of the reopening of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane excite you?

We are currently recruiting for a Theatre Management Apprentice. Initially gaining experience across all of our venues, the successful candidate will transfer to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in September 2020 and will be part of its reopening as a re-imagined destination venue and centrepiece of Covent Garden.

Whilst learning about all the different aspects of theatre management and putting these into practice the successful candidate will complete an apprenticeship leading to the CMI Level 3 Diploma in Management qualification. This will involve 8 hours of e-learning per week within the host theatre and one classroom session with the course provider per quarter.

The ideal candidate will have experience of providing excellent front line customer service as a supervisor or team leader in a busy bar and/or catering and retail sales operation. They must have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or higher, including in Maths and English. Evidence of this will need to be supplied to the apprenticeship course provider. The Theatre Management Apprentice will be able to build relationships easily across the business and with customers, will be proactive and will take ownership of their own development.

Contract: 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday.

This is a 15 month fixed term contract, based on the length of time required to complete the apprenticeship.

Salary: £22 – 24k depending on experience.

A full job description is available to download here and further information regarding the apprenticeship here.

Closing date for applications: 30th November 2019
