In January 2019, LW Theatres embarked on its most ambitious and exciting project to date, a £60 million restoration project to restore the historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane to it’s former 1812 glory.

For more than 100 years, Theatre Royal Drury Lane has been home to some of the most breath-taking spectacles seen on a West End stage. That legacy is set to continue in Autumn 2020 when Disney’s smash hit Frozen the Musical re-opens the building.

 

Front of House Manager

Do you have what it takes to lead a front of house operation in the heart of London’s West End?

In September 2020 the Theatre Royal Drury Lane will reopen as a re-imagined destination venue and centrepiece of Covent Garden.  We are going beyond theatre, creating a culturally inspired, multi-offer destination where the customer experience is always centre stage.

The Front of House Manager will have responsibility for fulfilment and practical delivery of a first class front of house operation (non F&B) throughout the all-day accessible destination including performances of the resident production, concerts, events and venue hires. We’re seeking somebody who has experience of leading a customer service delivery team in a busy venue. They must know what it takes to ensure the safety and efficiency of an operation whilst ensuring our customers experience a first class service at all times.

The Front of House Manager will report to the Guest Experience Manager and will lead the Front of House team.

Venue Technician (Electrics)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Do you have what it takes to be part of a high performing team at an iconic destination venue in the heart of London’s West End?

In September 2020 the Theatre Royal Drury Lane will reopen as a re-imagined destination venue and centrepiece of Covent Garden.  We are going beyond theatre, creating a culturally inspired, multi-offer destination where the customer experience is always centre stage.

The Venue Technician (Electrics) will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical maintenance works and projects to ensure the venue is continually well presented and the technical aspects of events, concerts and other venue hires are managed.

The ideal candidate will have a practical knowledge of technical theatre systems and relevant health & safety legislation and best practice. They will be able to adapt to changing circumstances, overcome challenges and work as part of a team to deliver a vision which will break new ground in our industry.

Operations Manager

Do you have what it takes to be part of a team leading an iconic destination venue in the heart of London’s West End?

In September 2020 the Theatre Royal Drury Lane will reopen as a re-imagined destination venue and centrepiece of Covent Garden.  We are going beyond theatre, creating a culturally inspired, multi-offer destination where the customer experience is always centre stage.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will lead the delivery of all resident productions and events and oversee the smooth running of the destination venue. Deputising for the General Manager, they will need to provide clear and consistent leadership for the venue to deliver an operation which meets the expectations of the Company and its customers.

An integral part of the venue’s leadership team, the Operations Manager will need to ensure they develop excellent working practices in order to deliver our brand mission; to stage the extraordinary.

Deputy Head of Stage

PURPOSE OF POSITION

We’re seeking a Deputy Head of Stage who will support the Head of Stage in ensuring the safe and smooth running of the Stage department. They will need to maximise the efficiency of the Theatre and deliver an excellent service to performances of the resident production, concerts and venue hires.

Technician (Electrics) - Adelphi Theatre

The historic Adelphi Theatre, located on the Strand in the heart of London’s bustling West End, is currently home to the smash hit Broadway musical, Waitress and is soon to host one of the most iconic musicals of all time, Hello, Dolly!

Under the management of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s LW Theatres Group and their joint ownership with the Nederlander Organisation, the Adelphi is a world class entertainment venue. In addition to 8 performances per week of our resident show, we also stage concerts and events in our 1500 seat auditorium.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Technician (Dayman) to join our friendly and highly motivated team.

The successful candidate will be passionate about technical theatre and achieving the highest standards of lighting for our shows. Experience of programming ETC EOS consoles, working with and maintaining large moving light rigs and contributing to managing health and safety in a busy venue are essential. A relevant electrical qualification is desirable.

Front of House Assistant at the Gillian Lynne Theatre

We are currently recruiting Front of House Assistants at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, home to School of Rock, The Musical.

Successful applicants will drive retail sales whilst delivering the highest levels of customer service in order to ensure that our guests experience a magical visit to our theatre.  Applicants should have a confident and positive attitude, be highly motivated, proactive, be willing to work unsociable hours and able to work well under pressure. Previous experience of either retail, bar, hospitality and/or visitor service is essential. 

Contract type available:

  • 8 shows per week
  • Monday & Wednesday to Saturday evenings and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons
  • Basic hours 30 per week with the potential for some overtime 

Applicants must be available to work all shifts as per the contract type with the exception of holiday allowance.

Contract will be for the run of the show at The Gillian Lynne Theatre and all terms and conditions of employment will be as per the SOLT/BECTU agreement.

Rate of pay: from £36.15 per shift (3 hours 45 minutes) with Sundays paid at double time.
