FINAL CURTAIN CALL
This show is no longer running.
THE SNOWMAN™ AND THE SNOWDOG, the animated sequel to the much-loved Christmas classic THE SNOWMAN™, will be screened alongside a live concert orchestra, in what will be the perfect festive treat!
The modern soundtrack will be brought to life by original composers Ilan Eshkeri and Andy Burrows alongside a live concert orchestra. The show will also feature classic Christmas songs, including White Christmas, Step Into Christmas, Jingle Bells, Light The Night, Little Drummer Boy, Wonderful Christmastime and more!
Actor and comedian Ben Bailey Smith will host both performances, whilst Jamie Oliver will play drums as the ‘Little Drummer Boy’ at the matinee performance. Spice Girl Mel C will also perform at the evening performance.
THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG animation is loved by families across the UK. With the addition of a live orchestra performing the star-studded musical score, watching the film in concert during its ten-year anniversary is the perfect way to make Christmas that bit more special this year!
A great way to get into the Festive Spirit for all ages.
2022 marks ten years since THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG was first released as the highly anticipated, animated sequel to the late Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film THE SNOWMAN.
Released in 2012 on Channel 4, the sequel tells the story of Billy, who discovers a snowman-making kit hidden under the floorboards of his new home on Christmas Eve. Billy builds a snowman and, with a little leftover snow, a snowdog. As the clock strikes midnight, the two come to life and Billy joins them on a magical, fun-filled journey across the skies to attend a party filled with snowmen and Father Christmas himself. Now as popular as the original animation, watching THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG has become an integral part of festive traditions for families across the UK.
The BAFTA-nominated score for THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG was recorded at the infamous Abbey Road Studios by composer Ilan Eshkeri and drummer Andy Burrows. Eshkeri is best known for his film scores to Stardust, The Young Victoria and Kick-Ass, as well as his collaborations with bands, while Burrows is best known for being a part of successful indie-rock bands Razorlight and We Are Scientists.
