An interactive masterclass in using the text to create unique character interpretations, finding the character and making truthful choices.

The Other Palace is thrilled to partner with Obioma Ugoala (original West End George Washington in Hamilton, Motown At Shaftesbury Theatre, Henry V, Merry Wives of Windsor for the RSC, Antony and Cleopatra for The Globe and The Physicists at Donmar Warehouse) for the next The Other Masterclass, focusing on deciphering text in both song and script.

The Studio will once again be transformed into a creative hub where young actors can perform, observe and learn from one of the industry’s leading talents. The Other Palace team will be selecting four performers to work with Obioma on stage, accompanied by Ed Bussey (Assistant MD for Motown). To apply to take part, please purchase your ticket here and you will receive submission information via email.

You will then be provided with details on how to submit your headshot or photo, biog and video clip of you performing your chosen song/script. This Masterclass is open to all genres of script and song.

The closing date for applications is midday Wed 23 Jan. If you have not heard from us by Fri 25 Jan then please assume that you have not been successful to work with Obioma, however there will still be opportunities to participate in the masterclass.

Even if you are not chosen to work on your song or script, or you do not want to perform, this is an invaluable masterclass to benefit from the experience and advice of one of the best performers in the industry!
