The Other Masterclass with Declan Bennett

The Other Masterclass with Declan Bennett

This show is no longer running.

An interactive masterclass in truly connecting with your audience, creating subtle yet dynamic character choices and getting the most out of your instrument.

Fresh from the Soho Theatre’s European premiere of new musical The View Upstairs, The Other Masterclass is delighted to welcome West End, Broadway and TV star Declan Bennett (Eastenders, Jesus Christ Superstar, Once, Rent, American Idiot) to lead a masterclass on ‘Acting Through The Music‘. We are also delighted to welcome back Fra Fee who is joining Declan as a special guest.

The Other Palace will select four performers to work through their song with Declan on stage. To apply to take part, purchase your ticket here. You will then be emailed a link to submit your headshot or photo, biog and video clip of you performing your chosen song from any genre of musical theatre.

Due to his extensive experience as an actor-musician, Declan is also offering the opportunity to work with performers who would like to accompany themselves musically. Accompanying yourself is not a requirement, however, if you would like to do so please include this in your submission.

The closing date for applications is 12pm on Mon 16 Sep.

Even if you are not chosen to work on your song or you do not want to perform, The Other Masterclass is an invaluable experience to learn from leading performers in the industry. All who attend the masterclass will have an opportunity to meet the mentor and ask questions.

Declan Bennett is superb as Christ. From the start he is gripped by the daunting nature of his character’s destiny.” – Quentin Letts, Daily Mail
