The Other Masterclass: Improvising Musicals with The Showstoppers

FINAL CURTAIN CALL
This show is no longer running.

Showstopper! is the first and only improvised musical to be acknowledged by the Olivier Awards – but how do they do it?

In this interactive The Other Masterclass, The Showstoppers will take you through the process of creating instant musical theatre.

Using improvisation techniques developed over The Showstoppers’ 11 years in the business, the masterclass participants will be creating songs within 20 minutes whilst observing what it is to trust your instincts, work in agreement with your scene partner and sing with a pianist when you don’t know what you are going to sing till the audience tells you.

Led by Pippa EvansAndrew Pugsley and MD Duncan Walsh Atkins, participants and observers will leave with a knowledge of the toolkit needed to create a West End Musical Show – in an instant!

The Other Palace team will be selecting up to six performers to work with the Showstoppers on stage. To apply to take part, please purchase your ticket here. You will then be provided with details on how to submit yourself for consideration. The closing date for applications is midday Fri 15 Feb.

Even if you are not chosen to work on stage, or you do not want to perform, this is an invaluable masterclass to benefit from the experience and advice of the best musical improv-ers!
