Mental Health Matters in the Arts
Sat 16th November 11:00
Applause For Thought, in association with The Other Masterclass, are pleased to return with a series of low cost mental health awareness events. Applause for Thought aims to provide a safe environment for performers to learn more about balancing their mental health whilst pursuing a career in the performing arts.
Each event will include:
We are joined by Trevor Gray, a leading performance coach, therapist and counsellor who specialises in psychotherapy for performers in the arts and sport. Trevor aims to help build long-lasting self-esteem and resilience in the performing arts industry. Whether it is self-critical thoughts, audition anxiety or stage fright, we want to provide performers with techniques to find strength and confidence in their careers.
Applause For Thought’s director Raffaella Covino is joined by performer Shiv Rabheru (Cats, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Sweeney Todd) to discuss his journey with performance anxiety, stage fright and self-esteem issues and how he has worked towards managing it in this notoriously critical business.
In collaboration with choreographer Philip Joel and a certified therapist, this event focuses on Men’s Mental Health, with the aim to raise awareness, removing stigma and tackle issues attached to men’s mental wellbeing both in and out of the creative industry.
Full panel to be announced.
Applause For Thought and The Other Masterclass are committed to providing accessible events. We will be offering a limited number of complimentary tickets to each event. If you want to attend and are unable to pay the £5 ticket fee please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your attendance.
