Brilliant Brazil – The Luiz Morais Sextet

Gathering the best Brazilian Jazz instrumentalists in the London scene, the Luiz Morais Sextet presents ‘Brilliant Brazil’, one of the most talked-about and consistently sold out Brazilian shows in London, bringing electrifying performances to top venues including Crazy Coqs, PizzaExpress Live Holborn; Pizza Express Jazz Club Dean Street and here at The Other Palace Studio.

The band focusses on showcasing the incredible diversity and geniality of Brazilian music, playing the all-time classic melodies of Bossa Nova and Samba from master composers, such as Jobim with gems “One Note Samba” and “Girl from Ipanema”, among others, alongside original compositions with carefully crafted arrangements and vibrant improvisation.

The Luiz Morais Sextet, with Luiz on 7-string guitar, features the seductive vocals of Gabriela Kozyra,– “the best Brazilian Music singer in London” -The Hoste Of Jazz and the swinging flute of Rachel Hayter, playing an array of compelling rhythms supported by percussion, bass and piano.

Brilliant Brazil returns to TOP for another feast of swinging, finger-popping Samba, Bossa Nova and Choro music to transport you to the steamy summer streets of Rio de Janeiro.
