Bono - Stories of Surrender
FINAL CURTAIN CALL
This show is no longer running.
An evening of words, music and some mischief…
One of the world’s most iconic artists, Bono, comes to The London Palladium to share stories about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. The live event coincides with the release of his memoir, SURRENDER: 40 Songs, One Story.
“I miss being on stage and the closeness of U2’s audience,” said Bono. “In these shows I’ve got some stories to sing, and some songs to tell… Plus I want to have some fun presenting my ME-moir, SURRENDER, which is really more of a WE-moir if I think of all the people who helped me get from there to here.”
On November 1, Bono will release his memoir titled SURRENDER: 40 Songs, One Story, the story of the remarkable life he’s lived, the challenges he’s faced, and the friends and family who have shaped and sustained him. The subtitle, ’40 Songs, One Story,’ refers to the book’s 40 chapters, each named after a U2 song. Bono has also created 40 original drawings which will be featured throughout the book. In his unique voice, Bono takes readers from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty. Writing with candor, self-reflection, and humor, Bono opens the aperture on his life—and the family, friends, and faith that have sustained, challenged, and shaped him.

Please bring a copy of your Section, Row and Seat Number from your digital ticket before your arrival at the venue.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Upon arrival at the venue, Yondr (the phone-pouching company hired to do this) will have staff available to help you put your phone in a lockable pouch which you keep throughout the night. If you’ve forgotten to bring a written copy of your seat location, there will be staff on site to assist.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN EMERGENCY AND NEED TO ACCESS MY PHONE?
You can unlock your phone from the pouch at any time by going to the clearly marked ‘Phone Use Area.’ See any usher or Yondr staff if you need help finding it.
WHAT ABOUT CASHLESS BARS OR MERCHANDISE?
Please bring your physical credit/debit card with you as certain venues may be cashless.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS & IS IT MANDATORY?
Yes, it is mandatory. A phone free environment, especially in a small theatre setting makes for a better show for everyone involved. Our senses are heightened when we lose the technology crutch we’ve become accustomed to. And yes, it’s a non-negotiable deal.
