Here at The Other Palace we want to create a community of people who share our passion for all things musicals. Alpha Omega: A Work In Progress

Written and composed by David Gordon, brother of renowned UK musician, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), Alpha Omega is a moving, theatrical song cycle of humankind’s never-ending pursuit of the meaning of existence, meanwhile practising perpetual destruction, caused by the failure of the so-called ‘great faiths’ to find common ground on which to unite all peoples of the world.

Daryl Griffith’s Zombies: The Musical

An irreverent, comedic tale of two star-crossed would-be lovers, desperately searching for each other even in death. Containing catchy tunes and cheeky lyrics, the songs will infect your brain and plague your head long after the show is over.

Terror at the Sweetshop

Shortlisted as a finalist for the Stiles and Drewe Mentorship Award 2018, Terror at the Sweetshop is a funny and fast-paced family musical comedy featuring an upbeat, tuneful score inspired by gospel, soul and rock and roll.

Reputation: A New Musical

Reputation, a major new retro musical by Alick Glass, is a compelling story of plagiarism and the female struggle for equality. It follows Michelle’s fight for recognition and the recovery of her stolen work, told through 25 original songs and romantic ballads written in the flamboyant style of the best-loved lyricists of the mid-1900s.

Pearl and Dagger

A new musical inspired by the Japanese folktale, ‘A Story of Oki Island’, which can originally be found in ‘Ancient Tales and Folklore of Japan’, written in 1906 by Richard Gordon Smith, a British naturalist.

The Girl With The Yellow Balloon

Follow the yellow balloon as the students of Creative Theatre Academy workshop their brand new musical in development. Their students have been working hard to develop a concept they have taken enormous pride in. After last year’s workshop, the CTA students return to showcase the results of their creativity in 2019.
