Discovering, developing and reimagining musical theatre is at the heart of The Other Palace.
We’re passionate about theatre and want our spaces to encourage and nurture the next generation of theatre-makers and musicals. Alongside our programme of fully produced work we will be opening the doors to the development process with a range of initiatives, from connecting theatre-makers to staging workshop performances.
All That Scratch
A brand new scratch night coming to The Other Palace Studio, showcasing the best in new musical theatre talent, with everything from grassroots musical theatre writing, to the latest productions from the Fringe, Off-West End and beyond.
All That Scratch is perfect for fans of musical theatre alike. Plus, regional audiences and artists can get involved with the release of the All That Scratch podcast: the best in new musical theatre writing, recorded live at The Other Palace, directly to your device.
Applications to perform in All That Scratch are open to all.

The Other Masterclass
The Other Masterclass series provides the next generation of musical theatre performers a platform to learn from the West End’s leading talents. Past mentors include Rachel Tucker, Fra Fee, Michael Xavier, Simon Lipkin and Laura Pitt-Pulford.
Each mentor leads a masterclass focusing on a different aspect of performance, providing feedback and advice to the performers chosen to work onstage. Applications to work with the mentor are open to all.

Creatives Connect is an informal opportunity to meet fellow theatre-makers and share ideas in The Other Gin Palace. The Other Palace programming team will aim to help facilitate conversations to move projects or careers forward.
Anyone is welcome – come have a drink and meet creatives at all stages in their careers.

Open Mic Night
Open Mic Nights provide emerging artists from all disciplines the opportunity to perform original music for the first time. Open Mic Nights are for anyone who wants to try out new material in front of an audience.
Our Open Mic nights are free to attend and take place in The Other Gin Palace, so just turn up, grab a drink and enjoy new music!

Pitch Days offer artists and creative teams the chance to present 10 minutes of their new musical to The Other Palace programming team and special industry professionals.
These Pitch Days are aimed at people who prefer to share their work ‘live’ rather than submitting their musical online. Following the day, the panel will provide written feedback on how we suggest you develop the piece.
