The Lowdown with Same Dress Different Bodies

Posted 5th February 2025

We caught up with Laura Adlington & Lottie Drynan about taking their body positive movement to The London Palladium.

Same Dress Different Bodies started off as a fun idea on Instagram; a way to find brands and outfits that cater to different bodies. And now, it’s taking to The London Palladium stage. So, what can we expect from the show?

Same Dress Different Bodies: A ridiculously fun and empowering afternoon that celebrates not just fashion, but individuality and confidence. The show will be packed with all things inclusive fashion and body confidence – including catwalks featuring the latest trends worn by ALL body types; bringing our Same Dress Different Bodies to life in the most empowering way. There will also be an incredible segment and the heart of our show where we pick three wonderful women who have admitted they struggle with body image and style and give them the confidence, and wardrobe they deserve love on stage. We guarantee you’ll leave feeling inspired, celebrated, and ready to take on the world!

If there was one piece of advice you wish you could give to their younger selves, what would it be?

SDDB: To give a big middle finger to fashion rules and wearing clothes just because they’re ’flattering’ – and instead wearing clothes that make you feel like ‘you’ and bring you joy.

Since starting Same Dress Different Bodies, the journey has been unexpected. In a good way.

SDDB: Honestly, the support we’ve received since doing the series has blown us away, but also made us realise how much this change of narrative in the fashion industry is needed.

We think it’s really resonated with people because for so long we’ve been fed this lie that to be fashionable and look good you need to be a certain size. And we’re calling BS on that. We get messages all the time from followers who admit they just assumed everything would look better on Lottie because she’s smaller, but that just isn’t always the case and we love that it proves our message.

One of our biggest missions is to show women that style has no size, and that your worth as a person is not defined by some arbitrary number in a label in your dress.

And now, the all important style question: what’s a piece of clothing or an accessory that they couldn’t live without?

SDDB: Chub rub shorts! We’re not being dramatic when we say they’ve genuinely changed our lives for the better. Couldn’t be without them now.

And when it comes to style, how would they define the importance of self-love and celebrating confidence?

SDDB: We think the best thing you can wear is confidence! And to be honest a big part of that comes down to being comfortable. When you’re comfortable in something, you wear it better.

We’re not about feeling restricted or wearing clothes that are too small. We’re not about outdated fashion rules, having to hide body parts or cramming them into Spanx. We want to wear clothes that fit, that showcase our personality and bring us joy. And hopefully inspire a few people along the way to do the same.

Same Dress Different Bodies comes to The London Palladium on Sun 23 March 2025. For more info and to book tickets, click here.
