The Lowdown with Luke Evans
Posted 23rd June 2020
We catch up with the actor and singer ahead of his show at The London Palladium
It seems Luke is keeping busy in these days of lockdown.
Luke Evans: I’m being productive, keeping busy is helping my days pass by. I’ve been songwriting and recording. I’ve also been learning Spanish, meditating, taking long walks and great siestas.
Not to mention copious amounts of home viewing and listening.
LE: I’ve watched a few amazing shows like Ozark, The Goldfinch, The Morning show and have been listening to new music on Spotify.
Luke is set to head out on tour following the release of his debut album, At Last. What can we expect at his show at The London Palladium?
I want my audiences to feel they get what they came for and they learn something more about me in the process.
But as it’s early days, Luke doesn’t quite yet have a favourite from the album to perform.
LE: I’m not sure, I’ve only performed a few of them live so far. Ask me after January!
Luke’s career spans television (The Alienist), film (Beauty and the Beast, Fast & Furious franchise) and stage (Rent, Miss Saigon, Avenue Q). But how do they differ?
LE: There is nothing quite like performing live to an audience. There’s a electricity in the room, an energy full of adrenaline, expectation, nerves, wonderment, and joy.
Luke Evans comes to The London Palladium on Mon 18 January 2021. Find out more here.
