West End and Broadway star Rachel Tucker will be performing in Musical Bites on Saturday 12 May, alongside a fantastic line-up of West End performers.

Musical Bites is back for the third time presenting a tasting menu of five exciting new musicals in development. Audiences will be presented with 15 minutes of each piece – getting a bite of these musicals by inspiring new writers. Throughout the evening, audiences will be invited to provide their feedback on each musical taster with our innovative feedback app, Sli.do, to further the development of the piece. The initiative is produced by The Other Palace and Mercury Musical Developments, the UK’s only membership organisation dedicated to nurturing new musical theatre writing.
Rachel Tucker trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music this year. She recently finished filming the BBC drama Informer, starring opposite Paddy Constantine. Her theatre credits include Elphaba in Wicked on both Broadway and London. Rachel made her Broadway debut starring as Meg Dawson in Sting’s musical The Last Ship directed by Joe Mantello (Neil Simon Theatre, New York and Bank of America Theatre, Chicago); Communicating Doors (Menier Chocolate Factory); Farragut North (Southwark Playhouse) and Meat in We Will Rock You (Dominion). Rachel’s debut solo album The Reason was launched in 2013 at her first sell-out concert at the St. James Theatre. Her critically acclaimed second album entitled On The Road was released in 2017.

Lucky from The Riveters by Katie Mulgrew and Vikki Stone
A musical comedy set in a dystopian future Britain, where a war between robots and mankind has wiped out the majority of humanity. Particularly the man-kind. Yep, while we were all watching our world leaders, we should have been watching our contactless payment machines and nutribullets. Ten years after the great robot war, a small community of women survivors live in relative harmony; a post-apocalyptic WI, making jam and shooting trespassers. The women work together to try and build a future, but unfortunately without the arrival of any men, there isn’t going to be a future.

Terror at the Sweet Shop by Gavin Brock and Nichola Rivers

A story about growing up and screwing up. We follow ten friends as they graduate from college and head out into the big bad world for the first time. Our friends deal with unrequited love, unwanted jobs, emigration, relationships, sexuality, all while trying to put on their first post-college play. In the midst of all of this, Kate finds herself in an unexpected position on graduation day. Pregnant and feeling alone, she pulls away from her friends as they continue to muddle through, while her boyfriend Fionn makes some questionable life decisions. Life is complicated, but there’s always a way through in the end.
