Celebrate Pride Month in Style at Theatre Royal Drury Lane with Disney Theatrical Group and Diversity Role Models
This June, the iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane is teaming up with Disney Theatrical Group and the charity Diversity Role Models to celebrate Pride Month in an unforgettable way. From a specially themed Afternoon Tea to exclusive events and performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while supporting a great cause.
Pride-Themed Afternoon Tea
The Lane is offering a special edition of their renowned Regency Afternoon Tea throughout June, featuring delectable treats and vibrant decor. For each Afternoon Tea consumed, £1 will be donated to Diversity Role Models. This charity works tirelessly to end LGBTQ+ bullying in schools by harnessing the power of storytelling to build empathy and celebrate diversity.
Menu Highlights:
- Sweet Treats by Lily Vanilli: Warm fruit scones, a fluffy vanilla cake with passionfruit and buttercream, a mini sticky toffee pudding with custard, and a strawberry ice cream sandwich by Happy Endings.
- Savoury Delights: Coronation chicken pie, English crumpet with Earl Grey infused cream cheese and smoked salmon, and a savoury madeleine with whipped English feta and pickled heritage carrot.
The Afternoon Tea is priced at £59 per person, with a children’s option available for £20. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available
Exclusive Screenings and Talks
On Friday, 28th June, The Lane will host free screenings and talks in the Cecil Beaton Bar. Guests can enjoy decadent cocktails while watching Disney Pixar’s SparkShort film “Out,” playing on loop throughout the day. Interspersed with the screenings will be interviews with creatives and a special talk by David Kerby-Kendall, host of Theatre Tours at The Lane. This event is free to attend with no registration required.
Special Pride Performance of Frozen the Musical
As a grand finale, Frozen the Musical will present a special Pride performance on Friday, 28th June at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. This collaboration between Diversity Role Models and Disney Theatrical Group aims to support DRM’s mission of promoting understanding and acceptance of diversity in schools.
Special Show-Themed Cocktail
To complement the festivities, a special show-themed cocktail called Ice Queen will be available. This refreshing drink, made with vodka, lychee, fruit tea, and lemonade, can be enjoyed with the Regency Afternoon Tea, at the Cecil Beaton Bar, or during your visit to Frozen the Musical. All profits from the cocktail sales on 28th June will be donated to Diversity Role Models.
