New shows on sale, including the return of National Youth Music Theatre

NATIONAL YOUTH MUSIC THEATRE

For 40 years the award-winning National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) has represented the very best in work with young people in musical theatre, leading Andrew Lloyd Webber to describe it as “the best youth music theatre in the world”. We’re delighted to announce that NYMT will be back in The Other Palace this summer, presenting three fantastic productions.

A Little Princess | 9 – 11 Aug

This romantic, funny and thrilling drama gets an entirely new treatment, combining elements of classical Indian music and dance with a rich musical theatre score.

The Beautiful Game | 15 – 18 Aug

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton’s award-winning musical follows the fortunes of a group of teenagers from both sides of the religious divide during “The Troubles” in 1960s Belfast.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow | 22 – 25 Aug

New England, 1820: A body is laid to rest in the shadowy town of Sleepy Hollow. The grieving widow stands alone at the graveside, and the townsfolk talk in hushed tones of the strange events that led her to this place.

THE BIG SMOKE FESTIVAL

The Big Smoke is a week long music, cabaret and variety festival with some of London’s best talent. From West End stars to award winning Drag artists there is a show for everyone in this week long celebration of art

Cassie Compton | 8 July

Following the success of her solo shows at Lauderdale House and Crazy Coq’s at Zedel, with music from some of the most exciting women in the music industry and theatre, Cassie is excited to be bringing the newest version of her show ‘Celebrating The Greatest Female Singer/Songwriters of All Time’ to The Other Palace studio.

The Jersey Quartet | 9 July

The Jersey Quartet is the ultimate Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons concert. This concert features 4 incredible West End stars, featurING all the hits including BEGGIN’, CAN’T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU, OH WHAT A NIGHT, SHERRY, WALK LIKE A MAN, BYE BYE BABY, BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY and many more.

The Voice Behind The Stars | 10 July

This one-woman show tells the story of the most prolific ghost singer of all time, Marni Nixon: the best film diva you (almost) never saw. Dubbing for over 50 Hollywood films, she was the singing voice for stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, Natalie Wood and Marilyn Monroe. Featuring much-loved tunes from West Side Story, My Fair Lady and The King and I, this show is not to be missed

IDA Girls | 11 July

Ida is London’s leading pop-opera girl group with an impressive collection of re-worked operatic arias, chart-topping hits and musical theatre favourites. With spellbinding vocals and slick harmonies, and the exciting marriage of opera, pop and musical theatre – with a twist! – Ida’s impressive versatility has seen them captivating audiences across six continents.

Kiki Deville – Bare Naked Lady | 11 July

In a brand new solo show, Vintage Personality of the Year, and star of The Voice UK, Kiki Deville delivers a funny, and at times, heartbreaking, story of life, love, grief and coming out the other side. With songs that will make you laugh, cry and want to stand up and sing along, Kiki Deville has a voice almost as large as her assets. If you want to feel all the emotions in one night, this is the show for you.

Jodie and Joel | 15 July

We’re so excited to finally get to sing with each other after years of wanting to! We’ve come so close to playing opposite each other in shows.. so this will be the night we get to live that.. and we can’t wait to share the experience with all of YOU! It’s gonna be a right giggle involving numbers you’ll want to cry to, laugh to and sing along to. Of course we will whack in a few solos each for good measure too!

Kayleigh McKnight | 15 July

Grab yourself a G&T and join West End Actress Kayleigh McKnight for her debut cabaret performance at The Other Palace. Expect acoustic covers, face-melting belting, gin-induced chatter, as well as hits from some of Kayleigh’s past work, including the current West End hit Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.

Join Velma and her vivacious band for an electrifying cabaret featuring the legendary music of Queen, Bowie, Boy George, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner and more.

Villages: A Song Cycle | Sun 1 Jul

This song cycle with music and lyrics by Drew Dillon features songs inspired by various LGBT bars and venues throughout history, exploring some of the events which took place there and the stories of the people who frequented them.

Paul Goodhead: Seeing Stars | Sat 1 Sep

Celebrating 35 years in showbusiness, Paul Goodhead returns to London for one night only in a show that has toured the UK in 2017. The evening includes his legendary tributes to Danny La Rue, Dorothy Squires and Dame Shirley Bassey as well as his music, comedy and star memories of a remarkable career.
