My Neighbour Totoro: Full Cast Announced for West End Transfer

Prepare to be enchanted once again as the multi-award-winning stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s beloved film My Neighbour Totoro returns to London! Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Shakespeare Company, in collaboration with Nippon TV and Improbable, proudly present the West End transfer of this magical production. Running at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8 March to 2 November 2025, this is a theatrical event you won’t want to miss.

After breaking box office records and winning six Olivier Awards, My Neighbour Totoro is back with a stellar cast. Victoria Chen joins the company as Mei, alongside returning stars Ami Okumura Jones (Satsuki), Dai Tabuchi (Tatsuo), Jacqueline Tate (Granny), and Ai Ninomiya (the Singer).

The Kazego Puppetry Ensemble brings the story’s enchanting creatures to life, featuring returning performers Boaz Chad, Matthew Leonhart, Heather Lai, Shaofan Wilson, and Anna Kato, with exciting new additions Rachel Clare Chan, Sally Cheng, Sabrina Pui Yee Chin, Victor Itang, Gabriel S Janoras, Ronnie Lee, Wen Hsin Lee, Amber Lin, Kumiko Mendl, Annakanako Mohri, Richard Peralta, Lucy Park, Chloe Ragrag, and Nathaniel Tan. Completing the cast are Phyllis Ho (Yasuko), Steven Nguyen (Kanta), Jamie Zubairi (Hiroshi), and Deanna Myers (Tsukiko).

Directed by Phelim McDermott and adapted by Tom Morton-Smith, the production blends stunning puppetry by Basil Twist, vibrant set design by Tom Pye, and Joe Hisaishi’s iconic score, newly orchestrated by Will Stuart. Audiences will be transported to a magical world of spirits and natural wonder.
