During the next two weeks, a new generation of musical talent will be showcased in a brand new post-show concert series: Musical Beginnings, along with a one-night-only transfer of Footlight Productions LDN’s Singer Showcase at The Other Palace!

Thursday 21st September 2017: TIM CONNOR

The Other Palace Studio
Musical theatre composer and lyricist Tim Connor (Winner, 2016 Stiles and Drewe Prize and finalist for the 2017 Kevin Spacey ‘Artists of Choice’), presents a selection of cabaret numbers and songs from his theatre scores : Heart of Winter and The Stationmaster , as well as previewing his new musical written with Susannah Pearse, Ever Onward, that arrives in The Other Palace Studio this November!

Friday 22nd September 2017: ROBERT GOULD

The Other Palace Studio
A cabaret of songs from three new musicals, including My Land’s Shore (music by Christopher J. Orton & lyrics by Robert Gould). The world premiere of the show was staged February 2017, garnering rave reviews and an Off-West End Award nomination.

Songs will also be featured from two musicals-in-development with music by Rob Eyles & lyrics by Robert Gould – The Wonderful Musician and A Pebble For Aaron (which was a finalist for the 2016 MTI Stiles And Drewe Mentorship Award).

Cast will include Gareth Evans (member of Vox-X Over seen on BBC’s Pitch Battle), Sarah Dearlove (Sex In Suburbia), Rebecca Gilliland (The Hired Man), Kate Hume (Chicken Little), Shaun McCourt (War Horse, Joseph) and Brendan Matthew (Vocal Group, Gregorian). The performances will be accompanied by pianists Aaron Clingham and Rob Eyles.

Saturday 23rd September 2017: ALEX JAMES ELLISON

The Other Gin Palace
Alex is a singer-songwriter from Brighton. He attended the BRIT School and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Last year, Alex won Pride’s Got Talent and as part of his prize, he got to perform on the Trafalgar Square stage to 15,000+ people at Pride in London this year. He has also supported Les Mis film star Samantha Barks on her UK tour last year as well as British boyband, The Tailormade at O2 Academy Islington. He has a few bits out on iTunes including his single, Chocolate Bar and will be releasing more later in the year. @TheAlexEllison

Monday 25th September 2017: ELLIOT CLAY

An intimate evening featuring the songs of one of London’s most exciting new composer and lyricists – Elliot Clay. This one-off concert includes songs from his most recent musical ‘ The State Of Things’ which played to sell-out audiences and received rave 5 star reviews and also a first listen to his upcoming musical ‘Our Season’s End’. With special guests from the West End this will be a night of music and chat not to miss!

Thursday 28th September 2017: HENRY ROADNIGHT AND ADAM JOHNSON

The Other Palace Studio

British musical theatre writers, Henry Roadnight and Adam Johnson will be showcasing material from their debut show The Dysfunctional Guide To Being A Third Wheel, Cane and Superhero. All material showcased is presented as a work in progress. Aveen Biddle will be performing alongside Adam and Henry.

The Dysfunctional Guide To Being A Third Wheel is being produced by Jordan Murphy for New. in association with Live At Zedel at the Crazy Coqs in October. Follow: @New_MTseries to keep up to date!

Friday 29th September 2017: FOOTLIGHT LDN’S: SINGER SHOWCASE

Central London’s Singer Showcase transfers for one night only. Footlight Productions LDN presents a night of live music at The Other Palace Studio with friends in a cabaret-style showcase for singers. The event allows emerging performers to show off their talent with live accompaniment in a relaxed lounge setting.

Saturday 30th September 2017: DYLAN WYNFORD

The Other Gin Palace
Following sold-out Bright Young Things workshop performances in The Other Palace Studio, Writer Dylan Wynford returns to play The Other Palace Bar, with a few old songs and new tunes after starring in Vivo D’Arte’s recent site-specific production of Parade in the role of Frankie Epps earlier this month. Dylan trained on the BA Musical Theatre
