You may have noticed on our website the STAR padlock logo and have perhaps wondered what it means.
STAR – The Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers – is the ticketing industry’s self regulatory body which all major primary entertainment ticketing companies belong to. All STAR members sign up to a code designed to help protect ticket buyers from misleading or fraudulent practices. STAR also runs a dispute resolution service, if a member of the public has a complaint about a STAR member which they have been unable to resolve. Wherever you see the STAR padlock, you can be confident that you are buying a ticket from a company that is authorised to sell you tickets for that event and has agreed to conform to a set of industry standards.
On 24th November 2015, STAR launches an awareness campaign #lookforthestar to promote safe ticket buying and here at Really Useful Theatres [now LW Theatres] we are supporting that campaign; too many times we have witnessed excited theatregoers arriving at one of our theatres only to discover that the tickets that they have bought are fake or have been mis-sold.
